"SLEEP OUT, ROCK OUT, KNOCKOUT HOMELESSNESS!"
Fun, educational, inspiring, cold, great music! That is just some of the feedback we heard from Cardboard Box City 2010...so we're doing it again!
PLAN NOW to spend one night in a cardboard box so someone else doesn't have to! The mission is to raise money and awareness to help knock out family homelessness in Minnesota. Register Now.
The FUN begins Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. Click here to watch a video from our 2009 event. (the dates are outdated, but the content is still great!)
Young Adults and Youth Groups from congregations, schools, and clubs from across the state will create a temporary cardboard box city at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.
Rent: Each youth raises $100 to sleep out so that a homeless mom, dad or child has a warm place to sleep for a week! All donations will benefit the homeless families served by Families Moving Forward of Minneapolis and the Saint Paul Area Council of Churches' Project Home.
Our goal for Cardboard Box City 2011 is to raise $40,000! This will give eight families more than a month of shelter and services at Families Moving Forward. So let's pack the Fair Grounds with youth who want to "Sleep Out, Rock Out, Knock Out Homelessness!" Spread the word and get your young adults, youth groups and school groups involved!!
DATE: Thursday, October 20, 2011 (MEA Weekend)
TIME: 4pm Thursday - 8am Friday
PLACE: Minnesota State Fair's, Baldwin Park
COST (RENT): $100 per person
Register your group NOW by going to the St. Paul Area Council of Churches website.
