Families Moving Forward
Families Moving Forward is a program of Plymouth Church Neighborhood Foundation, an organization committed to ending homelessness.
In collaboration with 42 congregations throughout the Twin Cities we offer overnight shelter and support to families experiencing homelessness. Most congregations host families for two or more weeks each year. About 4,000 volunteers each year are involved in providing shelter and hospitality to parents and children during their overnight stays at congregation sites.
Our day center in North Minneapolis is a welcoming, safe space for parents and children, with free laundry machines, a shower, storage for personal belongings, computers, a living room and quiet rooms. Families work with our staff advocates to find housing, pursue employment, and improve their financial literacy and stability. Please read more about our program and what a typical day is like on our Frequently Asked Questions page.
Seeing our program first-hand is a good way to learn about us. See information about upcoming tours of our Day Center and night shelter sites, as well as PCNF housing developments.
